This archive contains two programs that let you run the game Bard's
Tale mostly from a ramdisk. Not only does this speed up the game
enormously, it also magically makes it work on TOS 1.4 and higher (the
game is normally flaky on 1.4 and up, certain pictures load as scrambled
images and there are lots of disk errors, but it does run. On 1.4 and
up though you need more than 1 meg of ram due to more overhead than
the TOS 1.0 the author wrote the thing for. This means 2 meg or more.
Read the file RBARD.TXT first. It describes setting up floppies to run
the game. Follow the instructions to set up the ram disk, etc.
Then read the file BARDCOPY.DOC. It describes the second program that
takes care of all the copying to the ram disk mentioned in the first
doc file. The program RBARD.PRG I believe just Pexec's A:BARD.PRG.
The program BARDCOPY.TOS just copies files to the ramdisk, which is
set up by RMD.PRG.
Have fun with Bard's Tale!
